Cubic Zirconia, usually referred to as CZs are lab created gemstones. They have knockout color as a rule. Cubic zirconia, like all gemstones, come in several grades, and are capable of withstanding the heat of a kiln- the melting point of CZ is 2750°C (4976°F)- so are often used in jewelry creations that have to be fired, making them favorites of many metal clay artists.
Drilled beads of CZ are flashy and exciting, and the colors may be similar to genuine gems, but may be totally different, making for some wild colored stones!
