Larimar or pectolite is a rare gemstone. The colors vary from white, light blue, green blue to deep blue. Miguel Mendez rediscovered the stone in 1974 and named it after his daughter Larissa and the Spanish word for Sea (mar).
It has been found only in one location...a rather remote province of Barahona in the Dominican Republic
Pectolites are considered to be a "stone for Earth healing". It represents peace and clarity, emitting an energy of healing and love. Crystal therapy uses Larimar to treat cartilages, hair and feet by opening acupressure and acupuncture meridians.
