Muscovite is a mica. Muscovite can be peeled into very thin layers and has been used for window glass, even oven glass! Rarely there comes the piece that is beautiful as a gemstone. It is a soft stone, a bit softer than opal, and should be treated with kindness for many years of wear. DO NOT put this gem into cleaner or any sort of liquid! It should be wiped with a soft, dry cloth if it should need cleaning.
